MAXTOR ANNOUNCES 60GB HARDDISK
Maxtor announced two new additions to its award-winning
5400rpm DiamondMax product lines.
The new DiamondMax 60 and the DiamondMax VL30 harddisks
meet the capacity, performance and cost requirements of
value, mainstream and performance storage segments.
The DiamondMax 60, available in 60 GB and 45 GB capacities,
is a superior storage solution for high-end desktop systems.
The DiamondMax 60 is a high capacity four-disk design that
provides up to 60 GB of storage, the highest in its class
today, and is an ideal solution for high-end consumer PC's
and advanced consumer audio/video (AV) applications.
Maxtor's DiamondMax VL30, providing 15 GB or 30 GB of
storage, is the next mainstream product for entry-level
PC's and other cost-sensitive applications.
The DiamondMax VL30 offers up to 30 GB of storage capacity
and extends the low cost mechanics and electronics of
Maxtor's DiamondMax VL20 product line introduced last fall.
Both products incorporate the new Maxtor Silent Store
technology, making them ideal for consumer AV and other
noise-sensitive applications.
In addition, these new DiamondMax products support
UDMA 66 MB/sec buffer-to-host data transfer rates and can
be easily updated to UDMA 100 once that standard is released.
